AV access maintenance guidelines

The National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative (KDOQI) published updates to its evidence-based guidelines for hemodialysis vascular access.

The updated KDOQI guidelines specify a target goal of less than or equal to three interventions annually to maintain vascular access1

In support of achieving this goal, KDOQI recommends stent grafts in preference to angioplasty alone for recurrent clinically significant stenotic and recurrent thrombotic arteriovenous grafts (AVG) lesions1
