Culture: Doing what is right — always
Sustainability
Being fair and responsible to the environment while offering products which provide the best-in-class level of protection lies at the very heart of our culture. This is our founders’, Bill and Vieve Gore’s legacy and we are proud to continue this tradition.
(Bernhard Kiehl, Enterprise Sustainability Leader W. L. Gore & Associates)

As a company and as individuals, we are committed to achieving a positive economic impact while being environmentally responsible. We use the best scientific understanding available to guide us in our actions.
At Gore, we have an ongoing commitment to meet all applicable health, safety and environmental regulations and standards. We carefully consider the effects of our products and operations on the environment, as well as on the health and well-being of people.
We are committed to reducing facility-related carbon emissions by 60 percent in 2030 and to achieve total carbon neutrality by 2050.
Electronic Instructions for Use (eIFU)
We look for every opportunity to reduce waste. As printed Instructions for Use result in the use of large volumes of paper, we are in the process of becoming completely “paperless” with conversion to eIFUs by 2022.

Demonstrated impact
Integrity
- We expect everyone in our enterprise to demonstrate integrity in all relationships when dealing with suppliers, customers and stakeholders and other Gore Associates
- We are a patient-focused culture, not a sales-driven one: Gore Associates are not paid on commission
- Gore Associates build lasting, trusted relationships with healthcare providers to create solutions based on the unique needs of each patient
- Gore, a privately-owned company, takes a long-term, equitable view to partnerships and Associates
Labour principles
Our guidelines on social responsibility are consistent with industry-specific requirements and practices, such as the Fair Labor Association Workplace Code of Conduct and based on International Labor Organization standards, the United Nations (UN) Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Global Compact’s labour principles.
Diversity matters
At Gore, all individuals matter. We want each Associate to experience the inclusion promised in our fundamental beliefs and guiding principles, regardless of their race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, background, political beliefs or other personal identifiers.
Community support
Gore supports Associates by granting time or matching donations to non-profit organisations and charitable institutions.
*Working towards carbon neutrality, Gore has set a carbon reduction goal in line with the 1.5°C scenario of the Paris Agreement of reducing our facility-related carbon emissions by 60% no later than 2030.
