Addressing real-world challenges in AV Access
AV access maintenance guidelines
The National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative (KDOQI) published updates to its evidence-based guidelines for hemodialysis vascular access.
The updated KDOQI guidelines specify a target goal of less than or equal to three interventions annually to maintain vascular access1
- In support of achieving this goal, KDOQI recommends stent grafts in preference to angioplasty alone for recurrent clinically significant stenotic and recurrent thrombotic arteriovenous grafts (AVG) lesions1
